Witnessing the enthusiasm of early childhood professionals in this muddy effort to get children outside has been both inspirational and heartwarming! These conferences allow a place to share the work of some of the best nature-based early childhood educators. Join us in Connecticut for In Bloom in New Haven: Promising Practices in Nature-based Early Childhood Education!

Leila Day will be hosting an In Bloom conference in affiliation with Antioch University on Saturday, June 3rd from 9am to 4pm. Hear from key note speakers and local educators about the educational and health benefits of being in the natural world for young children. Keynote speakers will be:
  • Ellen Doris, Faculty of Antioch University New England

  • Anne Stires, founder and director of Juniper Hill School in Alna, Maine. “Following Chipmunks and Feeding the Fire: How Nature-based Curriculum Unfolds.”

  • Julie Robertson, Director of Creative Star Learning in Scotland. “Dirty Teaching: A Beginner’s Guide to Learning Outdoors.”

David Sobel and local educators, including some from Common Ground High School and Leila Day Nurseries, will lead workshops to share some of their work as nature-based educators.
